LIke many, I woke up today and have had to try and come to terms with the unthinkable: Britain is to leave the EU. Little Britain used to be a much-loved TV show, today it's a place.
Still, we are where we are. One of the great traits of the British people is our indefatigability. Whilst this feels like a monumental error, we must galvanise ourselves as we step out into the unknown - because there is no going back.
The UK will continue to remain a great place to build great tech companies and building great companies is one way we might be able to turn this crisis into an opportunity.
Tech companies will need to come together and speak with one voice to ensure their needs are understood and acted upon. To succeed, the UK tech sector needs great people, great infrastructure, world-class science and research, unfettered access to global markets, and a world-class smart and predictable regulatory environment. Without the benefits of EU membership, the UK needs to be at its very best to succeed.
