In the midst of these remarkable times, there has been a question constantly on my mind, as I am sure it is on everyone's: do we really know what is going on?  The short answer is no.  We have no data upon which we can rely to take these monumental decisions which are changing everyone's lives.

The problem is that this enormous social experiment really could have a lasting and detrimental impact on our economies.  This excellent article from Professor Ioannidis is worth a read.
